Match reports for Saturday 3rd May. Harlow I XI vs. Shanfield (friendly).
Harlow made swift in-roads in to the Shenfield batting & it wasn’t until 6 wickets were down that the visitors started to put up any resistance, eventually reaching 142 all out when a score half that size looked likely at one point. The Harlow batting followed the pattern set by the visitors as the top order made a miserable start. Only 16 year old keeper Nino Calvino showed the application necessary to marshal the tail, being unfortunately stranded not out with just 10 runs required for victory. Calvino had earlier kept without conceding a single bye—the third match in succession that he’s achieved the feat..
Shenfield II XI vs. Harlow II XI (friendly). Harlow won the toss and decided to bowl.
A good fielding and bowling performance with Dave Welhams leading the way, finishing with 3 for 16 from 9 overs. tight bowling from the other bowlers and wickets from Lee Jessey and Nilesh Modwadia restricted the home team to 163 for 8.
Harlow started poorly loosing Darren Green in the 4th over. after this Lee jessey (37) and Nilesh modwadia (30) built a good platform to build on.
Unfortunately a middle order collapse left harlow in a vulnerable position. the only other batting highlights were a solid 32 from Steve Perry and a watchful 14 from Luke Monger. Harlow were eventually bowled out for 137 in the last over. |
